Project: Demon Protege
Word Count: 23,908
Only six days left to add a full 26,092 words to the draft. So of course, one of my characters decides he's older than I first imagined him and thus an entire plot line has to be kicked to the curb because he is now WAY too old to be a love interest for my leading lady.
Now, I could leave that story line in and pad my word count. The NaNo bots don't much care if the story is disjointed or if the plot has wandered far from what the writer had originally imagined. But I care. I care a lot. So...I chucked a whole chapter and now have to fill in the blanks.
Yay...but seriously, I do enjoy this process. Listening to my characters as they tell me the story is one of the many experiences I really enjoy when it comes to writing.
And now it's crunch time. So here's to putting my nose to the grindstone so to speak. Bring on the meditative music and let the typing madness begin!
