Aside from being goofy about watching another new book baby come into being, I'm really excited to share this wonderful resource with my clients and the world.
Introducing Chasing Simple Marketing
by Amanda Warfield.
Starting with how the information is structured, you know you're in for a treat. Amanda begins with a simplification of marketing - what it is, what it isn't, and how best to use it to help you achieve your business goals.
From there, you're guided through identifying where you are in your business-building journey and what type of marketing strategy works best at that level. This section in particular was extremely helpful to me because up to that point, I'd been attempting to adopt almost every marketing strategy I'd come across and all that did was toss me into overwhelm. Amanda clearly defines the various phases and then provides specific marketing tools, actions, and tips for each. Consequently, I can stop attempting to be a "jack of all trades" and instead focus on being "a master of one" for each phase of my business journey.
She finishes the book with her signature Content Batching process; a way of creating a month's worth of content in ONE WEEK!! This section alone is worth the price of the book. I had blogged on and off for years but when I quit my day job to go full-time in my business I knew I was going to have to up my game so to speak. I discovered and signed up for Amanda's Club Content Batching course, and it quickly transformed my content creation. I went from sporadically posting random blogs to a monthly newsletter on the first Tuesday of the month, four blogs that posted each Wednesday, and 10 - to 15-minute-long videos on a previously dormant YouTube channel, that went live each Thursday. Each month had a theme and each piece of content related to that theme. It was beautiful and as promised, simple to do.
Armed with the knowledge of the previous chapters, when you get to creating your content plan, you'll have a level of clarity that's sure to make these last activities way less stressful than ever before.
Oh, speaking of creating things, I want to point out that each chapter closes with action steps for you to take, as well as supplemental resources to help deepen your understanding of the material presented. So in addition to the "lesson" you're supported with physical activity and additional education.
(In case you didn't know, Amanda used to be a school teacher, and it shows in the expert way she presents the information, then backs it up with appropriate activities designed to increase your retention and ability to utilize the information.)
Chasing Simple Marketing lives up to its name. It is a well-written, clear, and simple approach to an otherwise daunting (at least to me) aspect of entrepreneurship.
