What About the Leading Lady Challenge?

Updated: May 22, 2022

I'm glad you asked. I took April off to work on my Camp NaNo projects, but it's May now and I'm back, ready to try on another one of my lead characters.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, click HERE to learn more :-). The TLDR version is that this year I'm personifying certain traits of characters from each of my books for a month at a time througout the year. January kicked it off with Dominique from Satin Sheet Memoirs, Vol. 1. February was Mackenzie from Let There Be Life. In March, I chose to bring Charise Sayles from Hello Diva to the forefront.

This month, I'd like to introduce you to Caitlyn Birch, the leading lady of my fourth book, Breaking Point. Without giving too much away, it's safe to say Caitlyn has been through some things and she has reached her breaking point with it all. While I could easily bring to life her emotional and mental struggles, I chose instead to focus more on what helps her cope and grow. She's amazingly resilient, she is calm under pressure, and resourceful. And that's what I need most right now.

You see, it's been a year and change since I quit my day job and went full time with my business. I

hit my breaking point during 2020 and by April 2021, I needed to retreat, regroup and do things differently. While my mental and emotional health rebounded nicely, my fledgling business reached its breaking point last month. I don't want to give up on my dream but reality is pressing me to "drop this foolishness" and scramble to return to the world of the nine to five. I need Caitlyn to shore me up, help me stay the course while finding resourceful ways to keep my business afloat.

I could also use YOU, my dear reader. Yes, you too can help me during this pivotal time in my

business growth. Like Charise, I can't do this alone so I'm learning to ask for help when I need it. So, if you wouldn't mind, please do any of the following:

  • Share this post, the website, and or YouTube channel with your network.

  • Join the Nowata Press Guild.

  • If you've read any of my books, share a review on social media or HERE at the bottom of the page where it says, "Join the conversation."

  • Speaking of books, buy one. They come in three different formats and range in price from $2 to $9.99.

Any of those actions would be a big help and much appreciated.

Meanwhile, stay tuned as I chat more about how "being Charise" helps change my real life for the better. As always, I thank you for stopping by. Until next time, sending much inspiration and light,

Dana
